Going down rabbit hole and curiosity

I realised this today only. I realised that recently I have been sort of scared of going down rabbit holes. Like coming across something new and reading and trying things related to it kind of rabbit holes.

The reason for this aversion to rabbit holes and exploration is that it is much faster to learn about something by just asking any of the frontier llm model. Mind you, it is faster, i am not saying it is better or easier to learn by just asking llm and that is where the problem lies.

When one asks something to some AI model, you get a straight specific answer. Compare that to going down a rabbit hole, you explore 3 sites, read the documentation, try out stuff and experiment yourself and have a much better idea of that topic and even overall theme. This exploration drives curiosity and you end up learning much more than you set out to.

It is significantly longer than getting a direct straightforward answer from llms but it's so much better. And I don't see why I stopped wasting time learning cool things and experimenting. The tradeoff of time and curiosity is not worth it.
